PUMPKIN DROP 2  VERNON FIREHALL

It will be a smashing good time at the Vernon firehall on Nov. 5.

Vernon Professional Firefighters are holding their first annual pumpkin drop.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the main Fire Station No. 1 downtown, firefighters will be letting kids and families drop their Halloween pumpkins from their hose tower.

The splatted gourds will be dropped into a large bin that will later go to the regional compost facility.

Drop your pumpkin by donation to the Vernon Professional Firefighters Charitable Society.

Kids must be five years old and be able to climb the hose tower in order to drop their jack-o-lanterns themselves.

Firefighters will be on hand to assist and ensure participants' safety.
